Sharing My Passion for Simple, Nourishing Meals
I didn’t always know my way around a kitchen, and I certainly don’t claim to be a professional chef. What I do have is a passion for learning and a desire to make healthy eating approachable and enjoyable. Through the Forks to Knives Cooking Class, I educated myself in new culinary techniques, discovering that I truly enjoy cooking simple, flavorful meals and finding ways to make recipes more nutritious.
My love for teaching grew when I had the opportunity to work with adolescents in the community through a farm-to-table program. Helping shape their experiences with food—cooking meals with ingredients fresh from the garden—showed me how powerful hands-on learning can be.
During my Master’s Capstone Project, I led educational classes that included cooking demonstrations, where I saw firsthand how many people struggle with basic kitchen skills—skills I once lacked myself. The gratitude expressed by participants as they learned simple yet effective techniques, like cutting, roasting, and following recipes, reinforced my belief that cooking is a skill anyone can learn.
Through these experiences, I aim to give my clients the knowledge and confidence to overcome barriers that may be affecting their health. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I would be honored to help you find your passion for cooking, just as I discovered mine.
